This is the last vintage/antique photo that I took on my trip to Tucson last month, so I give this series some closure. Here we have an Easy-Writer 300 toy typewriter, made by Buddy-L (of Tonka’s competition in toy trucks fame), and it is a very impressive bit of machinery. I’m guessing the manufacture time was the 1970s, and this particular model is pretty pristine. There is a type sample and commentary available on .
There is no ‘shift’ to this typewriter, all letters are in uppercase and the secondary characters on the hammers are reached through the (four!) Figure keys. The blog link mentions how the “!” is printed as well as shown on the keycap as being diagonal but their photo isn’t clear about it.
