Unrelated note: There was a brief mention of Ernst in the newspaper Smålandsposten when he, a former sailor, had returned from overseas with two pet tortoises. They were reportedly 4 inches in size and he let them out to graze in a local park.

She had been arrested once previously at age 11 for pickpocketing.
Mugshot of Emma Kristina Johansson, 1906, Sweden. She was arrested after giving a policeman a “powerful blow to the face” with the rod of her steel umbrella. She was sentenced to three months penal labour.
Emma was arrested numerous times in her life; in 1900, she was celebrating a recent prison release with a few too many drinks and ended up back in jail for a week for attacking police officers with “kicks and punches” after they interfered with her celebration.
She was described as 1.55m (5’1") with medium blue eyes and a peach fuzz mustache. She was 43 years old, unmarried, and a sex worker.
